Gas has been an issue in the ANF for years and it never seems to get better. The two dependable sources on the loop are in downtown Marienville and close to the hospital in Kane (plus Lantz Corners). The Russell City Store is now closed but should reopen next year. . The Whig Hill Store is closed.
Note: Trail Update – The connection thru Mayburg has been improved. You still must drive over the Bob’s Creek bridge on Rt 666 but we have constructed a trail thru the woods. This trail keeps you off Rt 666 and curves around to lineup with the Mayburg bridge. This should save your carbides and your nerves trying to make that turn on bare pavement. This trail is on private property so please stay on the marked trail for your safety and to keep this bypass.
